COLDPLAY BIOGRAPHY

Coldplay is one of the famous band in UK (United Kingdom). The genres of this band are alternative rock and post-britspop. This band was founded in 1996 by lead vocalist Chris Martin and lead guitarist Jonny Buckland at University College London. The name of the band was Pectoralz. Later, Guy Berryman, Chris Martin’s and Jonny Buckland’s classmate, joined with the band. In 1997, the group changed its name into Starfish.

The Band’s line up was completed when Will Champion joined to take percussion duties. Champion had grown up by playing piano, guitar, bass, and tin whistle; he quickly learned the drums .  In 1998, the band  has completely used name “Coldplay” which was suggested by Tim Crompton, a local student who had been using the name for his group. In the same year, Coldplay release a demo, called Safety EP.

Coldplay became world wide  well known after they released a single “Yellow” in 2000. Then, followed with their debut album “Parachutes” in the same year which was nominated in Mercury Prize.The band's second album, A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002), won multiple awards, including NME's Album of the Year. They have also gone top of the BBC Radio 2 poll of the favourite album of all time. Their next release, X&Y, the best-selling album worldwide in 2005, got mostly positive reviews upon its release, though some critics felt that it was inferior to its predecessor. The band's fourth album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008), was produced by Brian Eno and released again to widely positive reviews, earning several Grammy nominations and wins at the 51st Grammy Awards.^[8] On 24 October 2011, they released their fifth studio album, MyloXyloto, which received mixed to positive reviews, topped the charts in over 34 countries, and was the UK's best-selling rock album of 2011.

Now, Coldplay has not released the 6^th album yet but they are still working on it. Chris Martin said that the title for the album will be so much easier to pronounce.
